This was my first year visiting FOS. Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012 was fantastic being invited to come and photograph the event.
The event was the biggest ever with Lotus’ 60th anniversary celebration being the central theme. Over the weekend were dozens of important Lotus road and racing cars along with many drivers who made them great trackside such as Sir Stirling Moss, John Surtees and Emerson Fittipaldi.
There are so many great things to see at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012 from the forest rally stage, motor museum, Goodwood Action Sports(GAS).
The Famous Hill climb being the main attraction with cars, trucks, motorbikes and Formula 1(F1) cars roaring up the hill trying to beat the record time set in 1999 when Nick Heidfeld drove a McLaren MP4/13 Formula One car up the hill in 41.6 seconds (100.385 mph).
Another highlight at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012 was the ever-popular Cartier Style et Luxe concours celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
You can also get up close and personal at Goodwood Festival of Speed for photos and autographs with many of the drivers past and present drivers from many areas of motorsport including the Superbikes, WRC & Fomula 1.
This year included Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Mark Webber, Sir Sterling Moss, John Surtees, Neil Hodgson, Jimmy McRae, Tiff Needell, Alain Prost, Sebastian Vettel and so many more.
Be sure to take a look at Radio DJ Chris Evans beautiful collection of the Magnificent 7 Ferraris. Every year he brings the cars to Goodwood Festival of Speed to let the public admire the stunning cars.
For the younger crowds at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012 there is the Goodwood Action Sports(GAS) Arena with BMX, Flatland, Mountain Bike Trials, Motorbike Trials and Freestyle.
In the past the GAS Arena has seen Thomas Pages, Robbie Maddison, Kye Forte, Danny MacAskill showing off some amazing skills. Local man Chris Doney (Zero Gravity) from Wickham & Martyn Ashton will be heading up the mountain bike trials displays.
At Goodwood Festival of Speed there is great opportunities to get in different vehicles for driving experiences such as off road buggys, Land Rovers or Porsche’s off road testing area.
I will be there at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013 photographing the event for Goodwood. For exhibition, corporate or press Photos/Photography please email me:- firstname.lastname@example.org
